Episode 08 — THOMcast Veepee, which acquired Vente-Exclusive.com in the Benelux in 2016, is the European leader in online flash sales. Veepee’s strategy has always been to be extremely transparent about deliveries and returns, and in particular about their costs: there is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone has to pay for it: either the company through lower margins or, most of the time, the consumer.

The company’s historical backbone is a network of today over 270 pharmacies in the Belgian market. Recently, the online e-commerce channel has been added to the retail mix.

Big news came out last week: new research done in the Belgian retail sector claims sustainability is not a decision driver when choosing a supermarket brand. Especially for younger consumers (18-29).
