At The House of Marketing we are passionate about marketing, helping our clients and supporting each other in our professional challenges. And like every big family, we get together frequently. Once a month we meet to catch up, but during summer we truly take the time for a fun activity. The 2017 Summer Informal was all about sharing passions. A handful of THoMers hosted a workshop for their colleagues regarding their interests. Some THoMers learned how to taste wine, while others learned how to make easy and daily hairstyles, take the perfect picture or share their passion about bikes and food.

Since 2014, The House of Marketing has been evolving very fast. In 2014 we joined the Quanteus group, in 2016 we launched a new website and in 2017 we went through a full rebranding including new logo, colours and baseline.

People who pay frequent visits to huge and cluttered retail spaces – hypermarkets for instance – will recognize this pain. Nowadays, in this world of marketing automation, a human error is only one click away. We all know the feeling of panic when we unintendedly post, send or share a message. And we can testify! Recently we also accidentally sent out a wrong email. Oops, something went wrong…

If you witnessed the death of typewriters, radio cassettes and analogue cameras you will have felt the wobbles of the digital revolution in its early years. Today Artificial Intelligence (AI) makes the headlines as one of the most disrupting forces of our century. In an article published in June 2016, The Economist claimed, “Experts warn that the substitution of machinery for human labour may render the population redundant. They worry that the discovery of this mighty power has come before we know how to employ it appropriately. Such fears are expressed by those who worry that advances in artificial intelligence (AI) could destroy millions of jobs and pose a Terminator-style threat to humanity.”

The House of Marketing organized its 6th quest for the Marketing Genius of the year. During this challenge, young Belgian marketers are empowered to voice their creative marketing ideas. Godiva, newsmonkey, Devos&Lemmens, Desperados, Vacature.com, ProNails and PUB challenged the participants to come up with a genius opinion about one of their burning marketing challenges.
